About the Club |
We are an active club made up of members who promote the Inner Wheel objectives of true friendship, personal service and international understanding. As well as our monthly meetings we hold casual social get togethers and fundraising events to support our Presidents chosen Charity of the Year. We value our close association with both Rotary Clubs on the Island and work both independently and in unison with them in servicing our island community |

About the Town |
Guernsey is an island measuring just under 6 miles long and 4 miles wide with a population of approximately 64,000. Our golden sands and spectacular coastal landscapes are a tourist destination but also attracted the attention of Victor Hugo and Pierre-Auguste Renoir both of whom were inspired to write and paint whilst spending time on the island towards the end of the 19th Century. In more recent times Guernsey along with Jersey, Alderney and Sark were occupied by German Forces from 1940 to 1945 during WW2 and the fortitude of the islanders during those five years is honoured and annually commemorated on their respective Liberation Days in May. Our island is a Crown Dependency recognising H.M The Queen as our sovereign and she is represented on the island by His Excellency the Lt Governor. However we have our own government and laws headed by the Bailiff of Guernsey. Although tourism and finance are vital to the economy there is also the Third Sector Group (Association of Guernsey Charities) which is supported by our generous and thriving community. This group comprises of every registered charity and voluntary organisation who work to support the community and its cultural life. |
