About the Club |
||
The club has 43 members and one Friend of Inner Wheel and welcomes those who do not have a Rotary link, which was an expectation in the past. We meet monthly for a business meeting, usually with a speaker and but are looking in the future to having some variation to this. An Annual Charter and Christmas lunch are enjoyable opportunities for a more social occasion and the Charter lunch involves a speaker and guests of members and visitors from other clubs, usually held at a local hotel. We have two book clubs, which meet monthly in members homes, and arrange monthly coffee mornings, walks and Sunday tea at Compton Acres. Members are also involved with collections of Knitted goods, bottle tops, spectacles, stamps, old mobile phones and printer ink cartridges. Lately due to the pandemic we have arranged coffee mornings for 6 members in the garden of a willing hostess, with every member offered an opportunity to take part and would hope to continue this for the coming four months. However this will rely on directives from the Government and the weather! Exec and Club meetings have been held via Zoom and have been fairly successful and members have kept up spirits with phone calls and email 'funnies' !! |
